The mission of PhaseTree is to empower scientists and engineers to design materials with specific target properties through an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. The barrier to entry has been too high for even experienced researchers as materials design needs to account for various processes occurring across several temporal and spatial scales.
PhaseTree is born out of our own challenges and frustrations! We are a passionate team focused on helping researchers accelerating the materials design and discovery processes.

Jin Chang, Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer
Jin has more than 10 years of experience in various computational modeling technologies, spanning from atomic to continuum scales. He has been developing several proprietary and open-source simulation software. His passion for developing user-friendly modeling solutions drives the growth and success of the company. He provides strategic direction, overseeing operations, and building relationships with stakeholders.
Tejs Vegge, Co-founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Tejs has been an innovator of clean energy materials for 20 years, working on accelerating the clean energy materials discovery and innovation process. He is an internationally leading expert in the field of computational discovery of battery materials and next-generation clean energy storage solutions. e.g. as coordinator of the Battery Interface Genome - Materials Acceleration Platform: www.BIG-MAP.eu.
Jenna Kang, Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer
Jenna is a seasoned professional with a design, technology, and entrepreneurship background. With over 10 years of experience, she has worked with various companies and founded multiple design and consulting firms in Canada and Denmark. Jenna is overseeing business operations, developing and monitoring KPIs to measure performance, and fostering a positive company culture. Her exceptional leadership is essential to driving the company's success.
Peter Bernholdt Richter, Business & Legal Advisor / Board member
Peter is PhaseTree's legal advisor, overseeing the company's legal and business affairs. With 15 years of experience at the intersection of legal, education, and technology, he provides strategic and legal advice to the company. Peter's expertise and insights help navigate issues, ensuring compliance contributions are essential to PhaseTree's success.
Joonyeob Jeon, Scientific Developer
Joonyeob is a scientific engineer in charge of developing and testing the computation engine of PhaseTree. Equipped with strong computational method development skills, he integrates state-of-the-art theories and crazy ideas of the PhaseTree team into our software. His expertise lies at the intersection of scientific research and software development. He is a very committed and reliable member of PhaseTree.
